Work Experience

All students in Years 7–9 have opportunities to engage with employers through talks, projects within lessons and assemblies, and educational visits.

All Year 10 students have the opportunity to take part in Work Experience during the Summer Term. Placements can be either self-found by students or selected from the school’s approved placement bank.

Why Work Experience Matters

Work Experience is a valuable and enriching opportunity that can have a lasting impact on a student’s future career journey. It enables students to experience a real working environment and gain meaningful insight into the world of work.

What Students Will Gain

Through Work Experience, students will:

  • Gain hands-on experience in an area of interest

  • Develop essential employability skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving

  • Build confidence and independence

  • Create valuable networking opportunities

  • Make informed decisions about future education and career pathways

  • Strengthen college, university and apprenticeship applications, as well as CVs

Making the Most of the Opportunity

We strongly encourage all students to take full advantage of this opportunity to explore potential career paths and develop skills that will support their future success.
