World Book Day

Author Catheraine MacPhail kick started World Book week at the Academy by visiting us and delivering a writing workshop with pupils who had been reading her books. We were then visited by popular author Nigel Hinton.

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators and books, but most importantly it's a celebration of reading.

Did you know that in the United Kingdom, World Book day is held annually on the first Thursday in March? The 23rd April, which is internationally known as World Book Day sometimes clashes with the Easter school holidays and St George’s Day.

The Academy celebrated the day with staff from all faculties dressing up as characters from their favourite books.
