A Tale Of Two Cities

We have a production taking place this Thursday evening 7.30pm - 9pm, in the Theatre, called A Tale Of Two Cities – Jed Dunn and Steve Portz will be there telling stories about rugby in the city from the Victorian era up to the present day, including the first Derby. Rugby stars spoken of will include Hull FC's legendary winger Jack Harrison – scorer of 106 tries in 116 matches for the team – who was a posthumous recipient of the Victoria Cross for his gallantry during the First World War.

Alongside the tales about the city's teams, the performance also touch on the wider story of rugby league – which split away from the amateur game of rugby union in 1895 – and the role it played in northern life.
