Fantastic start to the year

Six pieces of work were put into the 2017 young artists of the year competition earlier in July, with Jazz and Annalise picking up well deserved prizes for their hard work throughout the last academic year.

Annalise picked up her prize in the sculpture category and Jazz won for the Key Stage 3. Both pupils, along with their parents were very happy and collected their certificates in front of a large audience last Wednesday at Hull Central Library.

Jasmine won for her acrylic on canvas painting of a lizard eye which took her somewhere in the region of 20 hours to complete throughout June and July.

Annalise won for her sculpture of a symbolic self-portrait, were all of her hobbies and interests pour out of a well-made clay skull. The sculpture is painted with acrylic paint and all in all has taken her over thirty hours to complete.

Well done girls and bring on 2018!

I am very proud of both pupils and also very pleased that they now have gained the confidence to put work up in galleries. All pupils that push themselves in any lesson should see this and push that little bit harder to gain the recognition deserved.”
