Easter

'Eggcellent’ surprise

wawnebob.jpg

Last term was a busy term for Wawne House as our charity fundraising peaked with an Easter bonanza – raising money for our House charity ‘Yorkshire Air Ambulance’.

The charity is purely funded through charity donations and fundraising and they work tirelessly to save lives across our region. Before the Easter holidays, Wawne House pupils were busy selling an array of knitted Easter chicks filled with an ‘eggcellent’ surprise! The fundraising was coordinated by Vice Principal and Wawne House staff member, Mrs Farmer – who was supported by Mrs Farmer Senior who kindly knitted the Easter chicks.  As ever, a superb team effort and we raised a staggering £288.87 which will help them Yorkshire Air Ambulance in a lifesaving mission. Well done all!

Easter Family Learning Day

Winifred Holtby Academy working in partnership with Tweendykes school held another successful Family Learning Day on Tuesday 29th March 2016.

Over 120 people attended the event and had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities including, an Easter egg hunt and sports and crafts, plus the Easter Bunny made his usual guest appearance, much to the delight of everyone there (both young and old).

Family Learning sessions are the perfect opportunity for parents and children from all schools/academies within the Bransholme Partnership to work and play together, make new friends and share ideas and experiences.
